Anita Cranston, Tai Chi Instructor, began studying Tai Chi in 2018 as a means of managing arthritis pain but what she discovered was so much more! Tai Chi offers a gentle alternative to exercise for people who are compromised in their activities and anyone who is interested in fitness as wellness. The gentle movements strengthen core muscles as well as those that support balance and fall prevention. It teaches you how to breathe deeply and lower blood pressure and anxiety while creating a sense of calm and well-being. Tai Chi can be done almost anywhere and requires nothing more than comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and gives immediate and lasting results. Anita has studied and certified with David Dorian Ross through the Taijifit progrm for Veterans and the YMCA’s Moving for Better Balance program and is currently certified by the Tai Chi for Health Institute that is endorsed by the Center for Disease Control and the National Council on Aging as well as many other governmental departments around the world.
Lisa Hanigan – As a lifelong runner, biker, and participant in anything active, Lisa started studying yoga because she thought it would be a benefit to her fitness for all her other endeavors. But the present moment focus, mindfulness, and nudge to look inward are wht transformed her into a lifelong student and teacher. As a certified instructor for both yoga and meditation , she has been teaching for over 15 years. Lisa has had the fortune to have worked with kids, teens, college students, adults and even the elderly. She has instructed in a multitude of settings including yogo studios, cancer centers, schools, businesses and for the last 2 years on Zoom. Most recently she has been teaching classes at her home studio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She describes yoga as an “innercise” with many benefits to mind, body, and soul. She would love to help you get started or continue to new levels on your individual yoga journey.
