Team Building
Shangrila Guest Ranch is conveniently located an hour and a half North of Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. Come bond with your team while participating in our horse-centered team building activities. We want to provide your team with an entertaining day that will connect generations through meaningful activities. These hands-on activities will keep you on your toes in a way that is difficult to obtain in a regular setting. We strive to have your team leaving with an enhanced sense of trust, leadership, and positive influence.
Example Itinerary
Arrival 9:30 am – 1 hour morning meeting
10:30 – Activity 1
Noon – Lunch

2:30 – 1 hour afternoon meeting

Our team building activities;
- Obstacle Course – Gain trust in the horse and your team to correctly get through the obstacle course. This will enhance your teams communication and leadership skills while demonstrating problem solving abilities.
- Horse Lunging Demonstration – This activity allows you to observe how meaningful energy can be. Your team will learn ways to use body language, social cues and energy to efficiently communicate to each other. This will help increase your teams productivity and awareness of presence. This awareness will help minimize miscommunication and conflict in the work environment. This also will enhance your teams emotional intelligence.
- Teepee Building – When working with a team to build a product, the leaders will naturally be evident. Your team will need to work together to navigate their personalities to work together. Using the horses as a distraction, you will also challenge the element of focus.
- Blindfold Maze – In contrast to the Obstacle Course, this activity will help your team with their verbal communication. The blind folded partner will have to trust and the other to adequately guide them. This activity will engage your team in positively reinforcing and influencing others.
- Line Dancing – Although line dancing can be very fun. It can also be very beneficial to your team. Line dancing will create a cohesive team that is capable of working together to learn. This activity can also promote a healthy lifestyle as well as, boost energy, creativity, and confidence.
- Wagon Ride – This a great time to relax and bond with your team. This would be a good time to separate into departments and spend some quality time getting to know one another. This will increase the morale in your company.
If you do not wish to use the allotted time for meetings we provide horseshoes and corn hole. Horseback riding and wagon rides are available for an additional fee.
Team building packages start at $185 per person. This includes meeting space, lunch and two activities of your choice.
